shinya has been busy making something since morning.

朝からゴソゴソと活動する木村氏。
 

the guys who raced their air-cooled 80's kawasaki Z are coming to drop their record holding machine today. yes, they got 195.336mph and broke the class record! shinya wanted to give them something and made this trophy :)

あの、80年代の空冷カワサキZで最高速にチャレンジしているチーム・rods and blueの皆さんが、レコードホルダーのマシンを箱に入れに来るのです。そうです、クラス・レコードを破った堂々の記録は195.336mph　（314.36km！！）　さ、300キロ超えですよ！それで、木村氏はどうしても何か記念になるものをあげたくて、ゴソゴソしていた訳です。

we all went to the canyon for a ride last year, so why not this year?

去年もレース後みんなで山へ行ったので、とりあえず今年もまずは山へ。

we didn't have motorcycles for everyone so they took turns here. they all genuinely love motorcycle. you can tell from their smiles.

チャボ貸出オートバイの数が圧倒的に少なすぎて、全員は乗れないのでここで交代。ここまで乗って来るとみんなこの顔になっちゃいますね。彼らは純粋にオートバイが好きで仕方がない人達ですから尚更。

i was peeping how record holder S rides. well, he was riding pretty normal.

300キロの男S伯氏がどんな風に乗っているのか覗いてみたけど、割と普通。

記録を出したのは昨日のこと。きっとジワジワと実感が湧いてきているのかもしれません。

チャボに戻り、いよいよ記録を出したマシンにご対面。

can you see the straight crack in the middle　of the cylinder head? it got it right after it passed the finish line. what a machine!

シリンダーヘッドが真ん中からまっすぐにピキっと割れています。もう本気の本気を最後に出したマシン。格好良すぎる！

washing carb. it was so interesting to watch these guys working artfully as a team. it was beautiful.

キャブを洗っています。このチームの手際の良さに感動。それぞれが何をすべきか分かっていて、黙々と役割をこなしています。手際が良いというより、もうそれは見ていて美しい芸術。

300キロと200キロを超えたマシン逹、再会。何か泣けてくる。

おじいさんが新車で買ったという50年代のアグスタ、孫が3年かけてレストアしてあーもー最高速レース出ちゃう？ってなったらしい。ステキ。

さて、2日目一走目。

120mph, not so bad but didn't get the bubble visor effect...yet.

120マイル（約193km）、悪くない。でもバブルバイザー効果はまだ見られず・・・走り終わった後の木村氏の清々しい表情で、スパイクの調子が良いのが分かります。

2走目。

117mph. "ah, it's not so easy!" he said. the spike has been very stable when it was running around 110mph but it reached to the next level now and just a tiny bump makes the whole rigid frame shaking. it will be the new challenge until next race. anyway, it was a great season opening for us.

117マイル（188km）　「いやぁ、難しい！」　スパイクは110マイル前後を走っている頃は車体はとても安定していたけれど、115マイルを超えた辺りから路面の荒れが車体に直撃するらしい。ついに次のレベルに到達したということかも。6月のレースまでの課題。それにしても2走目、コースの後半が荒れていてスパイクの挙動がおかしくなり、初めて怖かったんだって。それを聞くとこっちも怖いぜ。ま、良いシーズン開幕となったのでした。
